The Best New Manga You Should Read in 2020 (part 1)
If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to read more manga, you might be looking for some guidance about your next big read. While you could always revisit an old favorite or catch up on a series you missed, sometimes there’s nothing more exciting than a brand new manga series. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the best new manga that you should read in 2020.
Love me, love me not
From the legendary Io Sakisaka who’s brought manga such as Honey So Sweet, Ao Haru Ride, and Strobe Edge, comes another great shojo series named Love Me, Love Me Not which is surely another romantic drama from the mind of Sakisaka. Viz has picked up this manga series for a March release date!
It’s about two girls that become fast friends named Akari and Yuna. The two girls are complete opposites with one being a realist and the other being a positive thinker. When two boys appear, things get very extra.
Ironically enough the second series on this list is the manga adaptation of the Transformers. This manga series is destined to be great since the man behind the writing of this new take on the robots in disguise is not anyone other than Ban Magami, who has a long history with the series since he has worked on three Japanese anime adaptations of Transformers.
The story remains the same as it ever was in this manga. The Autobots in cooperation with the young human boy Kenji are locked in a war with the Decepticons. Therefore, this series will also cover The Great Transformer War.
Samurai 8 is another manga being brought to us by Viz in 2020. It is a series by the famed mind behind Masashi Kishimoto, the Naruto franchise. This series not only takes a step away from the Naruto standard by following a samurai instead of a ninja, but it is also a science fiction based story.
This series is your basic shonen much like Naruto; however, it carries a lot of charm. It’s about a boy dreaming of being a samurai in spite of his shortcomings. He’s a nerd who is hurt by everything that won’t stop until achieving his goal.
