Manga and anime related items have a big number of fans in Japan and therefore, there are more and more manga shops being set up in this country, especially at places such as Denden Town of Osaka, Akihabara district of Tokyo, the mecca of manga and anime. There is a list of some locations for manga and anime lovers to do shopping for their hobby:
Akihabara, a district in central Tokyo, is a big center of manga, anime, and gaming culture in Japan. It is really a paradise for any self-proclaimed otaku due to its electronics shops, anime stores, and maid cafes. Stores are mostly open from 10 a.m to 8 p.m, though individual store hours vary. Remember that on Sundays, the main street through this district, Chuo Dori, is closed to car traffic from 1 p.m to 6 p.m (until 5 p.m from October through March).
Nakano Broadway is a shopping complex in Tokyo famous for a large number of stores which specialize in anime items and idol goods, including many specialized branches of the Mandarake store. They offer numerous items including a wide selection of toys, figures, and costumes. The shopping mall is a short walk from Nakano Station, a five-minute train ride from Shinjuku. Stores are mostly open from 12 a.m to 8 p.m, though individual store hours vary.
Found in major cities like Tokyo, Sapporo, Yokohama, Sendai, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Hiroshima, Pokemon Centers are the stores in which you can buy all Pokemon related things such as stationery, trading cards, toys and games, and some other exclusive items.
DiverCity Tokyo Plaza
DiverCity Tokyo Plaza is a shopping, entertainment, and dining complex opened in Odaiba in 2012 and offers attractions which are related to the Gundam anime series with a life-size Gundam statue in front of the building and Gundam Base Tokyo, a shop specializing in plastic models.
